History

The City of Genesee is compiling a digital archive about our city that will be available to all interested parties for historical or genealogical research.  To date we have the following information;

Some City directories prior to 1930. All phone directories for Genesee from 1930 to date.

Polling data for Genesee for Presidential elections starting in 1938.

The 1890 census for Idaho as compiled by the Idaho State Historical Society.

Complete listings for the Lutheran, Catholic, Valley Lutheran and Genesee City Cemeteries with images of the headstones for the City Cemetery.

About 150 pictures of Genesee, most before 1940.

A list of all graduates from Genesee High School (1896-date) with pictures of Seniors from 1947 to date and some earlier group photos.

YOU CAN HELP!  DO YOU HAVE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING?

Missing Genesee High School Yearbooks – 1939,1940,1944,1945, 1965,1967-1970, 1973,1975,1979,1980-1983,1987, 1994, 2004-2006.  Any earlier Senior Class or Country School group photos. I am especially interested in 1937.

Any City or Polk directories prior to 1930.

Pictures, movies, video of Genesee (schools, students, stores, streets, parades, etc.) old or new.

Pictures of Genesee pioneer families (pre-1900).
